How to Use Your Intuition

Intuition is tricky business. On the one hand, it's considered
a "new age" kind of thing. Some might even say it's flaky. On
the other hand, intuition is being embraced by forward-thinkers
as the way to make decisions. And rightly so.

It is difficult to make almost any decision without a healthy
intuition. Most of the time, we just don't have enough
information to make decisions without it. And so we go with
our gut - in other words, intuition.

In the same way that using your intuition can help you in your
everyday life and financial decisions, it can help in attracting
and creating your ideal relationship. For example, you can use
your intuition to identify the next step toward finding a mate
or improving your relationship.

Often, people try to figure out these next steps in their head,
trying to solve their relationship problems in a logical way.
However, relationships do not easily lend themselves to logical
solutions, since too much information is missing or dependent on
other people. This is why using your intuition, your gut when
it, comes to navigating relationships is important.

How to use your intuition and learn to listen to your gut:

1. Ask.
Simply ask yourself a question about the situation. Ask out
loud or internally, or in a journal. Ask at night, or first
thing in the morning, or in the middle of the day; anytime
really.

2. Listen and feel.
Listen for an immediate word, phrase or sentence that comes to
mind. Or, feel both your body and your emotions. Do you feel hot
or cold when you ask yourself a question about your relationship
situation? Do you feel sick to your stomach or exited and
elated? Do you feel sad, scared, glad, happy? Do you feel
resistant or eager?

3. Discern.
Discern your intuition from other "voices." We all have a
myriad of voices in our head at any given time. They are so fast
and quiet that most of us do not even notice them. Any of
these voices could be mistaken for intuition. One way to
discern other information from intuition is to look for
consistent internal feelings or messages. For example, do you
get a
consistent feeling of dread or even excitement across most
situations? Then that feeling is something other than your
intuition. Intuition will always be situation-specific.

4. Trust.
Trust what you discover. This is most difficult part because
often the reasons you must do a particular thing or take a
particular direction are only visible in hindsight. Yet if you
are able to discover and folow your intuition, you will find it
seldom if ever leads you astray.

From here on out, you have permission to use your intuition.
You don't have to tell anyone about it. It will be our secret.
